An LLC Company – Peace of Mind In Business

Thinking of starting an LLC Company or wondering what an LLC is and why you should set up a business as an LLC?  A Limited Liability Company, LLC for short, is a business entity recognized by every State in the U.S.

In general, an LLC offers a business owner liability protection and acts as a personal shield against company debts and liabilities.

If you are running and operating a business on your own, without an LLC, any debt or liability the business incurs, is now your personal debt or liability.  With an LLC in place business debts are separate and not yours personally.

A LLC

An LLC can be owned by one or more people.  Each owner is referred to as a member.  If you are the only member, then it is referred to as a single-member LLC whereas if you have more than one member, it is a multi-member LLC.

As mentioned briefly at the beginning of the post, LLCs provide their members protection from legal liabilities such as a business bankruptcy filing and also protect the members’ personal assets such as savings, homes, and cars.

Other aspects that make an LLC Company a favorable business entity and give you peace of mind in business include the fact that LLCs require very little paperwork and are generally easy to maintain.

As a single-member LLC, the tax liability “passes through” to your personal tax thereby limiting additional paperwork, keeping things very simple!

Peace of Mind In Business

An LLC can also give you the assurance that no other business in your State can operate with your exact business name.  Now that is not to say that other companies cannot use something very similar, but no one can use the exact same name as your business in the State in which you form your LLC.
